A Specification Before a Keel
Every build starts with a written specification: length and layout, timber schedule, engineering and systems, interior standard, and — where needed — the documentation for classification. Agreeing this properly is the single best protection against surprises, and it is where we spend real time before any timber is cut.
Materials and Fastening Standard
We hold one standard across every beach yard we work with: timber selected by role and verified legal under SVLK, peg-first fastening drawn tight before galvanised bolts, and caulking and coating regimes suited to tropical service. The craft is traditional; the standard is written down and enforced.
Milestones, Payments and Supervision
The build is broken into milestones — keel-laying, planking, framing, engineering, interior, finishing, sea-trial, launch — and payment is released against completed, evidenced work at each one. You receive photographs at every milestone and are welcome on site; we represent your interests on the beach throughout. Contracts are issued by PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara.
Quality Control and Handover
We inspect at each milestone against the specification, not just at the end. Before handover the boat is sea-trialled, and we actively welcome an independent third-party pre-delivery survey so you accept the vessel on evidence, not trust. At handover you receive the boat, its full build record and its documentation.
